The 31st World Hakka Conference will be held for the first time in Canada. Originally scheduled for October 8 – 10, 2021 has been postponed to June 24 – 26, 2022. Hosted by the Hakka Canadian Association, it will take place in Markham, Ontario.

After thousands of years of migration, Hakka people are all over the globe and those in Canada are yearning to meet and mingle with their fellow Hakkas around the world to share and discuss their rich common heritage. Throughout their long course of progression, Hakka people have indomitably made history in different eras and many places, and have constantly written glorious chapters for the prosperity of the Chinese ethnicity.

The 31st World Hakka Conference with the theme of “Hakka Reunion & World Harmony” hopes, through the gathering of fellow Hakkas and friends, to allow for meaningful exchanges, especially for the younger generation.

Given the cultural importance of the conference, and the Hakka heritage of the vast majority of MCAO members, we strongly encourage fellow MCAO members to attend the conference. This historic event will afford you the utmost opportunity to broaden and promote the Hakka spirit, enhancing the unity of Hakkas at home and abroad, promoting economic cooperation and cultural exchanges.
